Teachers, doctors, and other professionals can take profession-specific training on the Mandated Reporter Training platform.

These learning paths streamline training for learners who need to take a profession-specific course alongside General Training. If you’re a learner, your general and professional trainings are combined in one convenient package. If you’re an organization admin, that means fewer trainings to assign and manage.

Learn more about what these learning paths are and how they can save you time.

What is a Profession-Specific Learning Path?

A profession-specific learning path combines the mandated reporter training you need all in one place. You don’t need to take the General Training in addition to training for your profession; you can complete the modules for your profession as part of a single learning path.

When you open your mandated reporter training, you’ll see a series of steps, also called modules, that you need to finish to complete your training. This is known as a learning path.

A learning path typically includes two or three modules, depending on your profession and state. This can include:

  • General Training
  • Profession-Specific Training
  • Exam

What Your Profession-Specific Learning Path Includes

The information and modules included in your training will vary based on your profession and the state or territory you work in. The Mandated Reporter Training platform currently offers profession-specific learning paths in California and Massachusetts, as well as some nationwide trainings. A typical learning path includes:

General Training

General Training is often the first module in a profession-specific learning path, making it easier to access all of your necessary training in one place. This module provides an overview of general legislation and best practices for mandated reporting.

Profession-Specific Training

Profession-specific training provides the information and skills relevant to your specific job role and the mandated reporting requirements that apply to your field.

Tailored learning paths are available for professions such as:

  • School personnel
  • Child care providers
  • Clergy
  • Medical professionals

Available training varies by profession and state. Find your state for more information.

Some professionals, such as registered nurses in California, can even earn continuing education (CE) credit when they take their training.

Exam

The exam is the final stop on your learning path. Passing the exam verifies that you finished your training and understand the General Training and profession-specific material.

Certificate of Completion

Once you complete your learning path and pass the exam, you will receive your certificate of completion. This is your official record that proves which training you completed and when. You can print it off, share it with your organization, or share it on social media.

A profession-specific learning path makes it simple to complete the training you need for your role and share your certificate with your organization.
