What You Will Learn
This training consists of seven lessons and concludes with a final exam to test your knowledge of the material. You will learn about the importance of preventing occupational exposure to infectious materials such as blood and bodily fluids, as well as:
- Define bloodborne pathogens and identify common examples.
- Describe how to respond to, prevent, and control exposure incidents.
- Explain standard methods of compliance with OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogens Standard.
- Understand the importance of the HBV vaccination and the steps for post-exposure evaluation and follow-up.
- Recognize how hazard communication keeps employees informed and protected.
- Understand recordkeeping requirements related to bloodborne pathogen exposure.
