This Mandated Reporter Training Course provides an overview of the definitions, requirements, and protections associated with being a mandated reporter in the state of Pennsylvania. This two-hour continuing education course is intended for reporters renewing their licenses.

What You Will Learn

This training consists of nine lessons, each of which will conclude with questions to test your knowledge of the material. You will learn information, considerations, and scenarios for mandated reporting, including:

  • Definitions and categories of child abuse as outlined in the Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law
  • Common indicators of suspected child abuse
  • Roles and responsibilities for persons required to report suspected child abuse (mandated reporters)
  • Requirements and procedures for reporting suspected child abuse
  • Penalties for mandated reporters who willfully fail to report suspected child abuse

How it Works

Mandated Reporter Training consists of specialized training followed by an exam to test your knowledge and earn your certificate.

At the conclusion of the training, you will take a final exam which will test the information that you have learned during the training.

Continuing Education Credits Available

Pennsylvania Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of State’s Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs for 2 hours of continuing education credit in the state of Pennsylvania.
