This Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training course provides an overview of the definitions, requirements, and protections associated with being a mandated reporter in Washington. The General Training is all-inclusive and non-profession specific.

This training consists of eight lessons, each of which will conclude with questions to test your knowledge of the material. You will learn information, considerations, and scenarios for mandated reporting, including:

  • Who are mandated reporters
  • Your role as a mandated reporter
  • Understanding the types of child abuse and neglect, how to recognize them, and the contributing factors that make up each type
  • Understanding the laws which define disability and how to identify the types of abuse children with disabilities may encounter
  • How to report suspected or known child abuse
  • The events that follow a report
