Every U.S. state has mandated reporter requirements in place. The Federal Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) requires each state to have procedures in place for certain individuals to report suspected child abuse and neglect. However, these requirements play out differently from state to state.
Who is considered a mandated reporter, how to best report, and how to get the appropriate training may be different depending on which state they’re in. Because of this, many states need a custom solution for implementing their mandated reporter training. These three states have turned to Simple Learning for their training solution.
California
The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) and the Office of Child Abuse Prevention (OCAP) worked with Simple Learning to create a custom LMS and courseware for their Mandated Reporter Training program.
California’s original mandated reporter training program was dated and difficult to navigate because it relied on information spread across multiple sites and tools. Simple offered a more accessible and intuitive mandated reporter training experience.
“The site is visually stimulating, interactive, very user-friendly, and effective for getting our California Mandated Reporters trained," stated Angela Ponivas, Chief of the Office of Child Abuse Prevention.
Massachusetts
Massachusetts also turned to Simple Learning to create a more effective mandated reporter training solution. Simple worked with Massachusetts to tailor mandated reporter training courseware based on the state’s local requirements and regulations.
This also includes a state-sponsored microsite that offers course participants further resources that are relevant to their location and field. The courseware is able to link out to these resources, offering a more informative and intuitive user experience.
Nevada
Like Massachusetts, Simple worked with Nevada to develop the courseware for their mandated reporter training in accordance with state and federal laws regarding the reporting of abuse.
Simple worked with the state to tailor the courseware to their specific needs as well as to create a resources microsite that would direct participants to relevant local information. The courseware integrates with this microsite, linking out to relevant resources when needed to streamline the learning experience.
From states and other government entities to private organizations, Simple Learning is able to work with your team to create a custom training platform that integrates the courseware you need for smooth and efficient learning. Schedule a demo now.
