In California, certain individuals are mandated by law to report known or suspected child abuse or neglect. Of the over 40 categories of mandated reporters listed in the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA), teachers are first on the list.

In 2013, 89% of all reports made in the state of California were made by Mandated Reporters, led by teachers, who made 22% of reports of suspected child abuse or neglect.

To prepare for this difficult responsibility, teachers and school personnel are required to take CA AB 1432 mandated reporter training.

Teachers are Front Line Protectors for Vulnerable Kids

Teachers and school personnel often spend more hours each day with children than their parents and caregivers do. This puts you in a unique position to identify possible signs of abuse, neglect, or maltreatment. It’s the reason that most states name teachers on their list of mandated reporters, and the reason why CA requires annual training so you can help keep children safe.

Get your AB 1432 training at the Mandated Reporter Training platform. Take your training online when its most convenient, and download your verifiable certificate so you can prove you’ve met your annual training requirement.
